Tidah Studio is a multi-disciplinary practice and design studio — conceived in 2015 and formally established in 2020 by Melissa Tidah Him.

TS is an embodied practice where wellbeing is prioritised, musings are documented, cultural zeitgeist and further research are explored, and various creations flow to the surface. Whether it is art, design, fashion or words, TS celebrates the flow of creativity and the intersection of these mediums.

Its mission is to inspire others to sit with their authentic selves, their own ideas, and pinpoint ways to produce them into personal roadmaps to their own works of art, alluring folks to invest themselves into adopting creative x wellness practices and/or entrepreneurial lifestyles.

TS also serves as a forward-thinking design studio specialising in branding.

Working intuitively alongside business objectives, TS identifies the most essential elements to produce compelling stories. From producing creative direction and visual identities, designing various medium applications, and collaborating with mutual creatives, TS co-creates one-of-a-kind universes with fellow business owners, leaving them confident in their offerings with the mission to attract the right demographic and effectively achieve sustainable, business growth.

The Brand Chronicles

For a project to be forward-thinking and embody a certain je ne sais quoi, we go real in-depth with our research & development.

We take pleasure in journeying into books, history, cultural zeitgeist, the social landscape and current digital trends to understand the essence of projects and identify comprehensive strategies that sets potential facet to the modern brands we co-create.

Focusing on the details is so important in today’s ever-evolving climate. We believe the extra homework is vital for a brand to stand out in today’s market so who said that learning a thing or two wasn’t such a bad idea?

In the creative direction process, we think its a lot like maths or science.

Once we identify strategies, we explore these with various concepts until we find the right kind of brand chemistry. The methods might take a bit of time to refine moodboards, develop logos, sensory words, typekits, and colour palettes however the greats like Albert Einstein didn’t take shortcuts.

Building foundations leads to the creation of a core visual language that can be applied and innovated on over time. We don’t just want to be ordinary. We want to co-create original, bespoke brand worlds so for us timing and refinement is key.

We also love the feeling of journeying through museum/gallery halls and becoming captivated by endless works of art. This is what we imagine doing when executing brand applications.

With refined creative directions and visual identities now intact, we can start applying these to various mediums. Perhaps we’ll create moving e-commerce film campaigns to product photography, digitally thoughtful and interactive websites, multi-sensory-inspired print and product designs, cleverly curated social media feeds or enticing copywriting narratives.

Whether it’s art, design or words, our mission is to create masterpieces that leaves an undeniable impression.

Well and Good

TS is here to co-create stories with businesses that set out to inspire the well and good life. Each business brought on aligns with our importance of valuing self-care, creating a sense of community, protecting our planet, and generating the good vibes in down-to-earth ways. We are good folks, who believe in love and laughter being the best kinds of medicine, and we want to connect with others who want to be well and good too.

Equality

If you’re into astrology, then you’d know what being a Libra means. But if not, let us explain: we believe in balancing out the scales and spreading equality where it matters the most. TS celebrates the diversity in humanity so regardless of age, gender, or background, we’d love to tell every kind of story. We believe in doing things together because as a community, we become better humans.

Storytelling

Like a really good book, our mission is to co-create stories that are characterised to the core. From the visuals, copywriting to the unique strategies, we make sure we bring a story to life and inspire others to go on the journey too. We align business objectives with cultural zeitgeist and make brand messages tailored and uniquely identifiable for consumers. You know, it’s a certain je ne sais quoi.

Education

For a project to be as forward-thinking and authentic as can be, we go real in-depth with our research, learning, and development. That means we get into our books, journey into history, and see if we can find any cultural zeitgeist that might add value to the stories that we co-create. We believe that extra homework is vital for a story to stand out in today’s market and an essential for genuine societal progression.

Colour

As we are a studio that celebrates diversity, we want to replicate that in our tones and shades — literally. Our strength is selecting a tailored colour palette that at first glance, represents the persona and DNA of a story and therefore is clearly identifiable within the pack. We don’t just want to be ordinary. We want to be original and for us, an array of colours is what speaks loud.
